I could never understand sentencing some-one to beyond death no matter how heinous the crime. Death is death and that’s it for criminals. Mind you that SOB deserves death for what he has done.

That's a very lenient sentence going by the enormity of the crimes he committed. Such men should be put to death. They are beyond any reform. Just imagine what all these years behind bars will make him. When he comes out he will start raping again.

I read that 52-year-old Shy Bland showed no emotion as Jackson County Judge Ann Mesle imposed the sentence Friday. A police lab matched Bland’s DNA to evidence from the old rape cases three years ago. The connection came just before Bland became eligible for parole on a 115-year sentence for another rape. This man should be hanged, its shameful that he’s only imprisoned.

Why expect anything else from Shy Bland? That the guy is devoid from any human emotion can be perceived by the gruesome acts he has committed.
Contrary to what others have expressed, I would not like to see him put to death. Instead he must be held in prison for at least 40 more years. Put him in the bleakest of cells with harshest of conditions and make his life a living hell. He deserves no mercy and death would be an easier way out.
